FAITH FOOD FOR THOUGHT

Do you wonder where your attention is? Watch your life. Watch what motivates you and watch what you're thinking about. Your words will follow your action. So keep watch and don't let divine things lose out.

Don't be dismayed. Don't lose your courage. Do what you're called to do. You have everything it takes to be a winner. You have everything you need to be part of the glorious, victorious end-time army of God. As Kenneth Hagin said in a prophecy God gave him in 1988, "You can be a part of that army if you want to be. Purpose in your heart that you'll not be lazy, that you'll not draw back, hold back or sit down. But purpose in your hearty that you'll rise up and march forward and become on fire."

Become aggressive. Press in. Lay hold of the kingdom of God with every bit of force you can muster. That's the price you pay to win the race. But one thing is certain—the eternal victory you gain will be worth it all.

Good Friday Is Good News

2Cor 5:19 .that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation."
  • "God was in Christ...." This simply means that Jesus Christ is both God and man. On the cross, He represented you and I, but since he was totally sinless, His judgment and punishment were unjustified. In Christ, God took the initiative to come into our world and personally pay sin's penalty. That's amazing grace!

  • "Reconciling the world unto Himself...." To reconcile means to make things right. On the cross, Jesus made things right between God and mankind.

Not imputing their trespasses unto them...." Again, because justice was satisfied on the cross, you need not be condemned for your sins. When Jesus uttered the words, "It is finished," He was saying that God was satisfied and sin's penalty was paid in full.

  • "And has committed to us the word of reconciliation." God is not mad at the world! Faith to receive forgiveness comes by hearing this simple yet profound message. By accepting Christ and the merits of His work on the cross, you can begin a new and exciting relationship with God. Your sins are forgiven on legal grounds and you can live with the assurance that you now have eternal life!

The law has a procedural defense known as double jeopardy, which simply means that a person cannot be judged twice for the same crime. Since Christ was judged and condemned for your sins, you stand acquitted when, by faith, you accept Jesus' sacrifice on your behalf.

April 5th

An important way you can teach your family about God is by going to church regularly.

We can't emphasize church attendance enough. You need a body of Bible-believing people holding you and your family up in prayer in order to make it in today's world.

Now, some may say, "Oh, I don't need to go to church. I read my Bible and pray, and God teaches me everything I need to know." But when a family is content not to have a definite time and place to worship, that's a family which rarely worships at all.

God doesn't save us to be spiritual "Lone Rangers." When you accept Jesus as Savior, you are born into the family of God, the Body of Christ and the kingdom of heaven. Jesus came to establish His Church, and He told us exactly how it was to operate.

Nowhere did He say anything about Christians going off and operating on their own.

In Hebrews 10:25 (AMP) we read how we are to join together with other believers: "Not forsaking or neglecting to assemble together [as believers], as is the habit of some people, but admonishing—warning, urging and encouraging—one another, and all the more faithfully as you see the day approaching."

God Cannot Fail

I woke up with this song rolling in my Spirit let's keep it in mind as we go through this day.
For He's the God Jehovah, so greatly to be praised
He's the God that'll take us over, every mountain sin has raised
Out of all of the gods men worship there's a difference you can tell
He's the only one who ever gave His Son, He's the God that cannot fail

POWER OF PRAISE

Acts 16:23-26 "And when they had laid many stripes upon
them, they cast them into prison, charging the jailor to
keep them safely:
(24) Who, having received such a charge, thrust them into
the inner prison, and made their feet fast in the stocks.
(25) And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang
praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.
(26) And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the
foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all
the doors were opened, and every one's bands were loosed."

The Bible says that God inhabits in the praise of His
people (Psalms 22:3). In other words, God "dwells" in
the atmosphere of His praise. This means that praise is not
merely a reaction from coming into His presence - Praise is
a vehicle of faith which brings us into the presence and
power of God! Praise worship is the "gate-pass" which
allows us to enter the sacredness of His glory. The
psalmist writes, "Enter into his gates with thanksgiving,
and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and
bless his name" (Psalms 100:4).

TODAY MAKE A DECISION TO PRAISE YOUR WAY OUT!

Christ First

“Christ is also the head of the church, which is his body. He is the beginning, supreme over all who rise from the dead. So He is first in everything.”
-Colossians 1:18

Today’s athletes are being pressured to be the best. More athletes are turning to whatever they can to get to the top or to stay there. Alex Rodriguez is one case. If you’ve seen his recent interview, you know that he said the pressure to perform drove him to take banned substances.

Texas Ranger Josh Hamilton was also one of those athletes. He was an amazing talent as the No. 1 draft pick in 1999, and he quickly turned heads in the major leagues. But it did not last long. The pressure and stress of staying on top took its toll on Hamilton, and he turned to drugs and alcohol to help him deal with everything. Eventually, he was suspended from baseball in 2002. He was no longer No. 1 in his eyes, let alone the eyes of those who loved him.

In our Christian walk we can get distracted from what is really important. We know the verses, we know the Bible stories, we know what God desires for us, but when life’s circumstances change or tragedy strikes, we tend to forget who is still reigning supreme and in control of everything. Colossians 1 teaches us that Christ is first and shares why He should remain there in your life every day. Nothing you eat, nothing you drink, nothing you see on the Internet, and nothing you put into your body will fill you more than Christ’s love and presence in your life. Though we may find success for a season, we always need to remember who gave us the abilities to do what we do.

During his time away from the game, Hamilton realized he needed to put God first in his life. Once he yielded to God’s leading, things started to change. He rejoined baseball in 2007 with the Cincinnati Reds and had an amazing year, but this past summer in the Home Run Derby at Yankee Stadium, Hamilton put on a show for the ages. He crushed pitch after pitch out of the park for more home runs in the competition’s history. Though what he accomplished in this event was incredible, he gave all glory, honor and praise to the One who saved him from himself through drugs and alcohol.

Hamilton has realized in his life that he is now second and Christ is first

Preaching

Preaching is theology coming through a man who is on fire.

There have been periods in history and even whole denominations when the anointing of God upon a preacher has been identified by mannerism, gestures even dress styles.

There is a differences between pulpit styles and powerful preaching.

One may grab your attention, the other will grab your soul and spirit and change your life.

Valentines Day 2009

The following verse is great wisdom on this Valentines Eve.
One of God's best blessings is your spouse–don't miss out on the joy God intended. Get refreshed—just the two of you.

Relish life with the spouse you love each and every day of your precarious life. Each day is God's gift. It's all you get in exchange for the hard work of staying alive. Make the most of each one!
(Eccl. 9:9, The Message)
